the networking directory is filled with professionals, both senior and junior, who are keen to talk about their job, their route in, and what the work is actually like. Once a school is registered they get access to the registry

There are more than 900 DEIS schools in Ireland and roughly 160,000 students in them. This platform brings a network to those students

As part of the scale up of SocialCapital.ie we are offering free access to the platform for the first 5 schools to register.

How it works

What does the school get?

When a school registers with Social Capital it gains access to the directory, both for itself and for associated students over 18. Here at Social Capital we are also happy to arrange talks with students to explain the concept of the platform and how 'social capital' impacts everyone in day to day life. Guidance counsellors and designated school personnel can also give individual students and past pupils over 18 their own access, allowing them to form their own networks.

As well as the usual routes, the directory covers jobs that need no degree and pay from the first year.

Technology
Software, product, design and data. There's far more of this work in Ireland than you'd expect, and a lot of it is in Irish companies.
Healthcare
Medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy and occupational therapy. Some people go straight from the Leaving Cert, others take a conversion course ten years later.
Law
Solicitor, barrister, legal executive or in-house. Firms range from large Dublin practices to one-solicitor offices, and the work is very different in each.
Finance
Banking, accountancy, insurance and fintech. Several of the qualifications can be done while you're working and getting paid.
Trades
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters and construction. A SOLAS apprenticeship pays from year one with no fees.
Media & communications
Journalism, broadcasting, PR, marketing and content. Journalism and broadcasting are long-established, while the rest moves fast.
