That's a big part of how it works. In college you'll meet some people that seem to know exactly what they want to do, and exactly what they need to do to achieve it. When you have 'social capital' you have the intangible knowledge of what is required to get the job you want, including the contacts that help guide you through the application process and land that interview. This website gives you that network.

These are the hardest fields to break into, knowing what to study, and how to prepare for them is vital to get a spot on a graduate programme.

Finance

A wide range of roles
Accountancy is the standard route post grad - Big4 training contract, but other areas are harder to break into, and require more planning. From Investment Banking to Quant Finance, some of the best paid roles are hidden behind multiple intra study internships and blocked off to those not at 'target' schools and courses.

Law

Bookworms
It's not just the college degree, you also need to complete 8 FE1 examinations. However the big firms hand out their trainee contracts before the FE1s are complete. Landing these opportunities requires preparedness

Marketing

AI is changing the field
AI is already hitting the marketing job market hard. So breaking into the field requires not only a good grade, but also an awareness of how businesses are adapting and operating to it.
